Music files to share. These are unique and are available possibly nowhere else. There are currently four categories of music files available on this site:

  1. Concerts – Here I have three concerts from the Saturday night Maranatha! Concert series recorded from KYMS 106.3 FM in Santa Ana, California in the late 1970s.
  2. Radio ShowsThe Larry Black Show, either taken from disks to be played on radio stations in the 1970s and 1980s, or were directly recorded off the radio.
  3. History – In 1998, CCM Magazine and Jon Rivers teamed up to present a special of the history of contemporary Christian music. Though not complete, this series recorded from the radio is a treasure of information about Jesus music, from the early 1970s through 1998.
  4. JM Tapes – Recorded from the radio starting in 1976 through the 1990s, these tapes represent my favorites as taken from the syndicated shows The Scott Ross Show, The Larry Black Show, Jesus Solid Rock, and Reality, and other music taped off WOW 590 AM in Omaha, Nebraska, KYMS 106.3 FM in Santa Ana, California, KCRO 660 AM in Omaha, and WHME 103.1 FM in South Bend, Indiana.

In each of the sections represented below, clicking on a download will take you to a page that gives more information about the file and gives the option of downloading it.

The number in parenthesis following the name of the file represents how many times the file has been downloaded.

  1. Oh, how I wish you (or someone) had more of the KYMS concerts! These are so great. Thank you for sharing!

  2. Thanks for the Download…..what a blast from the past in more ways than one ..i used to listen to the Scott Ross Show on WOW 590 AM in Omaha in the same time period….i lived in north central IA and would run around the house and the yard with my AM radio till the signal would come in clear…what memories 🙂

  3. I Used to walk a railroad track in Iowa just to find the right spot for good reception with my am radio to tune in Scott Ross on WOW 590 AM in Omaha….what a blast…kinda like go’n home for a bit 🙂

  4. Hello all,
I’ve been searching far and wide for the digital version of Jesus Sound Explosion. Does ANYONE know anyone who knows anyone who has access to it? The only alternative I have is to purchase a used album with all the audio problems and skips, then purchase a turntable SPECIFICALLY for this purpose, and record it. I’m not wealthy, but I will if I have to when my tax refund comes….maybe two years from now when it’s not already spent. 🙂

    David

  5. I was managing a gas station at the time of the last night of KYMS, and I actually cried as the station “died”, and they switched to the Vietnamese format.

    God Bless,

    John
