Today’s featured song: Here Is My Servant, by Dion Dimucci, from the 1983 album, I Put Away My Idols.
The second and third tracks on Tape JM-31 from 1984 demonstrate CCM radio in its early mature years, with jingles that do not simply identify the station, but also incorporate info about some of the artists. And, in good radio style, the jingle that mentions Dion is directly followed by the opening track from his third Christian album. Here Is My Servant takes from God’s words in Isaiah 42:1, announcing the eventual appearance of His chosen Servant, Jesus.
